The
Impeachment of Andrew Johnson - A simulation game giving President
Andrew Johnson a retrial. First hand documents are used. The students
will take on the roles of the key players in this great historical
event.
  
Presidential
Advisory Committee to Andrew Johnson
- This lesson is a simulation of a meeting that "could have
happened" in history. You have been asked by President Andrew
Johnson to serve on a committee that will advise him on a "Reconstruction"
program for the South and to propose suggestions about what the United
States government should do about African Americans. This lesson will
have groups of students' role play various members advising President
Johnson in order for him to enact some policy decisions regarding
African Americans.

Johnson's Amnesty Proclamation - On the 29th of May President
Johnson issued a proclamation granting amnesty to all persons who
have directly or indirectly taken part in the rebellion, with the
restoration of all rights of property except as to slaves, and except
in cases where legal proceedings have been instituted for the confiscation
of property, on condition of their taking an oath to defend the Constitution
of the United States and the Union of the States, and to obey all
laws and proclamations which have been made during the rebellion with
reference to the emancipation of slaves
